“The Spar” - Selenite Sterling Silver Pendant on Beaded Snake Chain
Selenite is the mineral form of gypsum, like the stuff in your drywall and plaster of Paris. There are four different formations of gypsum that fall under the Selenite moniker: selenite, which comes in sheets like the windows, satin spar (what we have here), desert rose, and gypsum flower. Satin spar looks like a cat’s eye because it has the chatoyancy phenomenon. Selenite usually forms around hot springs and can be found in Australia, Greece, Mexico, and the USA, but the long, beautiful, and coveted wands come from Mexico. Selenite is named after the Greek Goddess of the moon. Selenite clears out negativity and is a helpful tool to use when summoning our spirit guides to figure out what the heck we’re supposed to be doing and where we’re supposed to be going, however not with words, but in symbols. It also helps us move on in life and get us out of our comfort zones while also promoting healing within our bodies. Selenite is often used in energy grids with other stones to create energy vortexes to get crazy deep in meditation. This beautiful pendant is set in sterling silver with a fantastic beaded snake chain. Selenite is water soluble so do not wear this piece where it could get wet, like in the shower or while swimming.
