About our inventory
Jamie and Rebecca travel all over the to Tucson, Arizona for the world's largest gem and mineral show each year to purchase a majority of their gems and minerals. We also purchase directly from their trusted team of gem dealers in New York, Los Angeles, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Madagascar, Australia, India, and just about everywhere else. They also focus on purchasing gemstones directly from the mine or even mining for the gemstones themselves.
Thanks to the Kimberley Process, you really don't need to worry about blood diamonds anymore as 99.8% of all diamonds adhere to the Kimberley Process. Getting a "Blood Diamond" is very difficult outside of Africa. Every diamond we have in stock or acquire adhere to the strictest ethics policies. Pretty much from everywhere but a majority of our jewelry is made in the USA. We have a talented team of jewelers who create pieces for us. We source a lot of our stock jewelry from US based manufacturers. Occasionally, we find amazing pieces made elsewhere in the world like India or China. Our Thorsten Wedding Rings are made in China. We pride ourselves in being able to call our US based manufacturers and distributors if we ever have an issue. Luckily, that doesn't happen often but it's nice to have help Stateside.
Yes, many gemstones are commonly treated and every item description includes known and possible treatments. Just like our skin looks better with a little moisturizer and our hair can look great blown dry, gemstones can look better with oil and heat treatments. We always disclose the gemstone treatments in the "MORE DETAILS" section of every piece.
On occasion but you'll be able to see that it is synthetic (also known as lab created or lab grown) in the product description. Every once in a while, we'll find a really cool jewelry piece that features a synthetic stone. Many of our Thorsten Rings contain lab grown stones but we always make sure you're aware that you are not buying a natural stone.
We will sell you a Lab-Grown diamond but we will not carry them in stock. We want you to be fully informed about the lab-grown diamond industry before making your decision.
