Grandidierite of this quality is extremely rare and elusive, the Gemological Institute of America has called grandidierite one of the rarest gemstones on earth. It is considered the third most expensive gemstone on earth. It is almost impossible to find, so Rebecca and Jamie have made it one of their passions. It is only found in Malawi, Namibia, Sri Lanka, and gem-quality material such as this is only found in Madagascar.

Cleaning:
Grandidierite is a very rare and special stone, although it is durable with a hardness of 7 to 7.5, please be careful when wearing this stone because it is so rare. It is suggested that you clean your grandiderite with warm soapy water or a dedicated jewelry detergent like The Rutile Jewelry Cleaner. It is always suggested that you remove your jewelry before engaging in vigorous activities to prevent damage, including sleeping. Ultrasonic cleaning and steam cleaning is not safe for Grandidierite.
